Pregnancy photo session created in studio in Orleans, France

Pregnancy photo session in Orleans, France

First of all, congratulations on this beautiful adventure. Whether this is your first pregnancy or not, the emotion is always powerful. As a mother myself, I know how magical and intense this season can feel.

Pregnancy goes by so quickly. For a few months, your body changes to bring life into the world.

Over the years, I have gathered the questions I am asked most often about pregnancy photo sessions in my studio in Orleans, France, so you can prepare with confidence.

A professional pregnancy photo session gives you precious memories of this unique time, images you may one day show your child and say: “You were already there, safe and warm.”

As your photographer, my role is to guide you gently and create images that feel like you. You do not need to know how to pose. I guide you from start to finish.

When should I book my pregnancy photo session?

Pregnancy sessions are often booked early, so I recommend reserving around the fourth or fifth month of pregnancy to secure a place in my schedule.

If you are already further along, contact me anyway. A last-minute opening is sometimes possible.

A pregnancy photo session usually lasts between one hour and one and a half hours.

If you choose the professional makeup option, plan for about one additional hour.

The session always follows your rhythm, with breaks whenever needed.

Session preparation

Is professional makeup available?

Makeup is a much-appreciated moment before the photo session. It is optional but highly recommended. It gives you time for yourself, helps you relax and feel fully ready.

Maeva, the studio makeup artist, creates makeup adapted to studio photography, enhancing your face while keeping a natural result.

It is also a moment to slow down, talk and enjoy the experience while someone takes care of you.

Many expectant mothers tell me afterward that this preparation helped them feel more confident and enjoy the session fully.

Family participation and organization

Partner and children participating in a pregnancy session

Can my partner and children participate?

Yes, and I encourage it. Family photos during pregnancy are often very precious. I recommend coordinated neutral outfits for everyone: white, beige, ecru, khaki, or jeans with a white T-shirt. Avoid large logos or writing that may draw attention away from your faces.

Preparing children before a pregnancy photo session

How should I prepare children?

Simply explain that you are coming to take a few photos together and that it will be a pleasant moment. Talking about it beforehand often helps children feel more comfortable on the day of the session.

Pet included in a pregnancy photo session

Can my pet come?

Yes. Your pet is part of the family and can be included if we plan it in advance. I will ask you to bring a leash for a dog or a carrier for a cat so everything remains calm.

Post-processing

Are the photos retouched?

Yes, every selected photo is retouched carefully and precisely. Retouching is part of my work and helps create soft, harmonious and timeless images.

Small temporary marks can be softened if you wish: stretch marks, skin imperfections, scars, clothing marks or an old navel piercing. Everything is done subtly to keep a natural result.

The goal is not to transform you, but to enhance the images while respecting your appearance.

Retouching is often the longest step after the session. Each image is worked individually so the final result honors these precious memories.

Session guidance

Do you guide us for posing?

Yes. Most expectant mothers tell me they are not comfortable in front of a camera, and that is completely normal. I guide you step by step so the poses stay natural.

You do not need to know how to pose. Before we meet, I may ask you to send a few images that inspire you so I can understand what you love.

Many mothers leave the session saying: “It was much easier than I imagined!”

Are dresses and outfits provided?

Yes. A full wardrobe of pregnancy dresses is available at the studio, with many designer pieces selected for maternity photography.

I also have bodysuits, fabrics, jewelry, hats, angel wings and accessories to vary the styles during the session.

These outfits are available during your pregnancy photo session, and you can also bring personal clothes if you want images that feel even more like you.
